Garlic and Herbs Bread

Perfect for that weekend’s barbecue.

servings: 12 / preparation time: 10 minutes

 

Ingredients:

2 French bread baguettes

2 tbs butter

1 tbs chopped Italian parsley

1 sprig thyme, chopped

1 spring rosemary, chopped

1 tbs chopped chives

salt and black pepper to taste

 

Directions:

1 – Cut bread into thin slices (about 1/2 inch).

2 – Put butter in a small bowl and microwave for 15 to 20 seconds, until melted.

3 – Add spices and herbs to butter (salt, pepper, and herbs) and mix well.

4 – Using a brush, spread the seasoned butter on each bread slice.

5 – Place bread in the grill, with the buttered side face down, for 2 or 3 minutes.

 

Tips and Options:

  • Instead of the grill, you can also use the oven. Bake the bread for about 6 minutes at 350° F.
  • Add Parmesan cheese to the butter.
  • If you prefer, replace butter for olive oil.
